{"id":564,"date":"2021-06-04T13:08:07","date_gmt":"2021-06-04T11:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/corneliafrank.eu\/?p=564"},"modified":"2021-06-04T13:10:04","modified_gmt":"2021-06-04T11:10:04","slug":"imagery-training-in-school-based-physical-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/corneliafrank.eu\/?p=564","title":{"rendered":"Imagery training in school-based physical education?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>To imagine a motor action can be an effective way to improve performance and to promote learning, even in heterogeneous settings such as physical education in school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Our recent work on the effectiveness of imagery training in school-based physical education is published (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S146902922100090X\">here<\/a>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>&#8220;(&#8230;) teachers can effectively integrate imagery training of a complex motor action into a regular&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/topics\/psychology\/physical-education-class\">PE class<\/a>&nbsp;and that the combination of mental and physical practice is more beneficial than physical practice alone such as during a regular PE class without imagery training. If tailored to the heterogenous requirements of a school-based PE setting, imagery training can be a powerful means for practice in PE classes.
